After a serious crash abruptly ended a young Ernesto Colnago's professional cycling career, he started building frames and opened his own shop. He would go on to work with some of the 20th century's greatest cyclists, including Fausto Coppi and Eddy Merckx.
First released in 1982, with the same Columbus SL tubes as the Super, the Superissimo featured chrome plated lugs on the head tube. The Colnago Superissimo as pictured in Colnago's 1986 catalogue:
All of our bikes are fully stripped, cleaned and rebuilt. Frames are checked for wear, damage and alignment. In every case all wearable parts are replaced. Weight and further measurements are available on request.
