In 1898, Fred Hanstock founded Carlton Cycles in the Nottinghamshire village of Carlton-in-Lindrick, and in 1934 relocated it to nearby Worksop. Dan O'Donovan joined as a salesman in 1934 and grew the business considerably, establishing the biggest dealer network in the country and taking over the company in 1939.
Raleigh bought Carlton in 1960 and sold bikes under the Raleigh-Carlton name in the U.S. They continued to produce bikes under the Carlton name in Briton and abroad into the 1980s.
Our frames are checked for wear, damage and alignment. Rear spacing is listed as the actual measurement.
