Founded 1945, in Southhampton. The founder Freddy Prince coined the name "Rotrax" by combining the well known Road and Track names. After returning from serving in the RAF, Freddy bought a local bike shop and hired a team of predominantly ex RAF engineers. Rotrax quickly became known, throughout the UK, for top-tier craftsmanship and original detailing.
Rotrax frames will usually have a unique number stamped beneath the bottom bracket, used to date the frame.
The first two digits refer to the manufacture date, in this case "59". This means we can date the frame to 1959.
Our frames are checked for wear, damage and alignment. Rear spacing is listed as the actual measurement.
