The Risks

While we take the utmost care to minimize potential risks, it is important to understand the potential for damage during the removal process. Although the likelihood of damage to the frame is relatively low, it is still a possibility.

If a seatpost has been subjected to DIY removal attempts involving holes, cuts, twists, clamps, or other methods prior to arriving at our shop, the integrity of both the seatpost and the frame may be compromised, making them more susceptible to damage during the removal process. To date, we have only experienced one instance of frame damage while using our specialized tools, but it is important to be aware of the possibility before proceeding.

It's also worth noting that the seatpost itself may need to be damaged beyond repair in order to be successfully removed from the frame. This is an inherent risk associated with the removal of stuck or seized seatposts.
